fl. hmm.

It was a decent track, but its never too early to ween you off onto real music software like cubasis and music master works.

fruity loops really lacks the effort of true composing, and it shows, because anyone can learn how to use it, but not everyone can actually write music down.

Back to the music, drums could of been a lot louder, they were complely drowned out so it lacked rhythm. Its not always a good idea to have them panned mostly over to one channel though, because drums are designed to keep the beat flowing, and should be heard behind all instruments. The upper riff got a little repetitive until the.. flanging effecty thing came in, though the melody was quite nice.

I regularly compose songs using Finale and such (using my AP Music Theory skills haha). I never really have felt a desire to post those songs on NG though.

yay!

That is really damn well composed and presented. Only a few things to worry about. First off, it's very, VERY easy to tell its an x-midi, which is reassuring as it shows its all your work and not some 'fruityloops' crap, but it dosnt have the realistic sounds some other songs have, but theres probably not much you can do about that. GM isnt very good when it comes to guitars. May i reccomend using the pitch bend and modulation wheel a bi... lot more, as this tends to make it sound more realistic, and mabey add some guitar fret noises are really, really low volume. THats one of the later instruments in the list, and can really add some realism if used properly.

I started to feel as if it could of been just a bit faster, mabey just 5 bpm, but it seemed a bit sluggish. The chord patterns are too neat as well. All your instrumts change key at the same time, when somtimes its a better effect for some instruments, i.e. guitar improv to modulate say half a bar after the others, it makes it sound more varied.

Great use of background sound, but somthing i noticed is the background sounds matched the solo a bit too closley in some parts, which made the solo seem.. not like a solo.

Damned good work, i thought i was the only midi-user here :D. *turns constructive critisim mode off*

Thx I will be sure to use your tips in some of my later creations....I never thought that being too neat was going to give me critisisem

Nice

Really nice ambience here, You've managed to use samples non-repetitivly, well done. Only moan i'd have about it is the first few samples dont loop very well, but this sounds deliberate.

Did you hire sombody to play those chellos for you? woah.

UnknownSoso responds:

he he thanks. I used pretty much everything. The cellos thought weren't someone that I hired ;).

ahhh

Started great, nice and funkey, but the bass really ruined it for me, and the guitars are FAR BEYOND CLIP. Bass down, guitars down, clavi up, drums up.

Good

Sounded more egyptian than detectivey... Try aiming it a bit more towards Jazz pentonics than... whatever you did here. But either way its a decent track.

I maek musics.
